SCOPE

Orchidex ARC 1x1 F-HPL foam concentrate is a synthetic low viscosity firefighting foam concentrate that is suitable for use on polar solvents and hydrocarbon liquids.

Orchidex ARC 1x1 F-HPL foam performs well in fixed systems as well as in conventional foam-making equipment. 

When used with fresh, sea, or brackish water and foam generating equipment, Orchidex ARC 1x1 F-HPL forms a vapour-blanketing foam with excellent extinguishing and securing abilities.

APPLICATIONS

Orchidex ARC 1x1 F-HPL is designed for use with standard fixed systems and a wide variety of common firefighting foam application devices. Examples are foam chambers, air and non-air aspirating nozzles, sprinklers, water spray nozzles and water/fog nozzles.

Orchidex ARC 1x1 F-HPL foam is effective in subsurface injection systems for gasoline, crude oil and most water-insoluble hydrocarbons.

FEATURES

Aqueous film formation: Orchidex ARC 1x1 F-HPL proportioning has the ability to form an aqueous film which flows quickly over water-insoluble hydrocarbon fuel surfaces, causing rapid fire knockdown vapour suppression and burn-back.

Polymeric properties: Orchidex ARC 1x1 F-HPL Proportioning forms a stable foam even on water-soluble polar solvents (e.g. alcohols), protecting the foam blanket and enhancing fire suppression.

Proportions readily: Orchidex ARC 1x1 F-HPL Foam has a low, stable viscosity. It can be used in a wide range of proportioning equipment with high accuracy. It is tested through in-line inductors and is suitable for balanced pressure proportioning systems.

ENVIRONMENT & TOXICITY

Orchidex ARC 1x1 F-HPL is considered as biodegradable material with minimal environmental impact. More than 90% is expected to be biologically degradable within 28 days. The material is non- toxic to Humans, Fish or Animals.

Orchidex ARC 3x6 UL is a C6 (short chain) product complying with EN regulations relating to PFOS & PFOA.

STORAGE

It is recommended to store Orchidex ARC 1X1 F-HPL in its original containers at a temperature between -12°C and +40°C with suitable cover and protected from sunlight in order to maintain its original physical and chemical characteristics and to reach a shelf life of 20 years and even more. The foam should be tested for its physical properties and specifications after 5 years from the production date, and thereafter retested each year. Freezing and thawing have no adverse effect on the product performance, though a slight stratification may result; in such case, a moderate mixing before use is advisable.

PACKAGING

Orchidex ARC 1x1 F-HPL is available in drums (20 L/kg, 200L/kg and 1000L/kg). Shipments can also be made in bulk.
